NASK (.pl Registry) organises conference dedicated to the domain name business focusing on new trends in the industry. The event is organised together with our Partner Sedo, the world leading domain name parking company. The conference is supported by Name Drive, another big parking company. This event is the follow up of the “Domain Names Secondary Market in Poland” (www.SecondaryMarket.pl) held in January 2008 and “NASK Partners Meeting” held in April 2008.

Who should attend ?

This conference is primarily aimed at domain Registrars, domain investors from the CEE region, Intellectual Property lawyers, and senior managers concerned with the business implications of domains market, consultants and professionals dealing with new technologies and ICT entrepreneurs.

Agenda

The conference starts off with presentations on new trends in traffic monetisation from Sedo, NameDrive and dropped.pl followed by the Great Panel Debate lead by Matthias Meyer-Schönherr, Director Business Development Europe / Asia of Sedo.
The next sessions are dedicated to new products and services in both the primary and secondary market. The speakers will represent the biggest TLD Registries (from Western Europe and the CEE region) and leading Domain Registrars from Europe and USA. Following on that, the two biggest Polish domain name Registrars, Home and AZ.pl, representing respectively 27% and 9% of the .pl market, will present the new developments in the Polish domain and webhosting industry.

The main theme for the next session are the legal aspects of domain names. Fortunately, the Polish domain community doesn’t face such problems like the Snowe Bill or the Kentucky case, still many legal domain name aspects need clarification. The key founder of the Polish domain arbitration court will present how to effectively protect domain name holder’s rights.

The concluding session will be dedicated to presentations from NASK on the market prognosis for the upcoming months of 2009 and 2010, current results of Domain Name Tasting and Wait List Service, as well as .PL plans to boost the Registry-Registrars cooperation with the new “pre-paid” model.

The conference will be led by Dr. Andrzej Bartosiewicz, Chairman of CENTR, an Association of Internet Country Code Top Level Domain Registries.
